Empowering our future generations to not repeat the same mistakes of the generations past.
Our Mission
To educate indigenous youth and communities on the power and capabilities of renewables, enabling them to make informed decisions when tackling the major issues most affecting our communities today and into the future.
To foster support and respect between Northern Ontario communities on the growing negative impact of our development on Canadian soil, with special focus on indigenous lands and the surrounding environment. To help evolve our communities toward sustainable living by combining the wisdom and experience of all our peoples.
Climate Impact
As residents of Northern Ontario and rural Canada, the impact of our actions is amplified. Being surrounded by the natural beauty of our country is a constant reminder of what has been lost in the pursuit of paradise.
We live in the heart of what remains of our planet’s natural resources on this continent – it is a privilege, and with that comes great responsibility. Our hope is to enable our indigenous communities who have fought to protect the paradise we call home, to continue to do just that. Through renewables workshops, accessible training, and affordable education with our scholarship program - we aim to empower our future generations to continue on a path to healing our planet.
Social Impact
As residents of Northern Ontario, the impact that green energy has on us is highly valued at the RECCC Mission. Green energy has and continues to bring needed jobs and economic growth to the area, as well as improved access to clean, reliable energy sources.
By providing reliable, low-cost, clean energy, it can create economic and social opportunities that reduce poverty and energy insecurity. Green energy provides our communities with reliable and sustainable opportunities to severely underserved regions. The RECCC Mission is honoured to give back to our community through scholarships and financial opportunities for students. Learn more about these opportunities by following the links at the bottom of the page.
Economic Impact
We know the economic benefits of renewable energy are significant. For example, solar energy is a clean form of energy. Solar panels are an excellent way to harness clean energy from the sun and convert it into power. In Ontario, solar panels are becoming increasingly popular as homeowners and businesses look for ways to reduce and stabilize their energy costs. By investing in renewable energy technologies, communities can reduce their energy costs, grid usage, and create new sources of revenue. Many communities are already taking advantage of wind, solar, and grid level energy storage projects.
Renewable energy has been widely hailed as a game-changer in the fight against climate change, and its economic benefits for communities are becoming increasingly clear. By turning to cleaner energy sources, we are helping to create jobs and spur development in many communities.

Current News
“When looking into the cost horizon; the smart money is in ‘solar’ because once the system has paid for itself, it continues to generate clean energy at lower cost than any other option. It is an investment that pays and pays and pays. It’s free money falling from the sky.”
Harold Swimm, Executive Director specializing in Renewable Energy Construction
